There is a clear line of connection between the high rates of infant mortality in African-American women and racial equity in America.

As we look at the history of African-Americans in America one will begin to understand the effect that history has on the toxic stress that black mothers feel as they give birth.

Dr. Arthur James is a retired OB/GYN who has made it his mission to assist others in understanding how slavery and inequity affect the disparity in infant mortality rates.
